A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.
And goodness, are these two cuties a breath of fresh air! I met Amara when I worked at the middle school in Shelbyville (she's all grown up now!) and she is the sweetest thing! When she mentioned wanting to get some pictures done with her bestie Kaylee, I was all for it! I knew I wanted to shoot at the sunflower fields at Blue River Memorial Park, but had no idea how long the fields would be blooming. Working around two high school girls' schedules was tricky, so we shot one day after school while the sun was high. I came home to edit and decided I didn't love the images, and asked the girls if they'd mind a reshoot. They didn't, and we went back out another day, closer to sunset, which made for much more flattering light! One thing about me as a photographer- I am not afraid to admit when something isn't working!
We got lucky and got one of the last good days before the sunflowers died, and I love how these images turned out. Amara and Kaylee were great little models, and we had so much fun and giggled the whole session. These two are joined at the hip- I never see one without the other!
