This session was a dream!
I was so thrilled to meet baby Riggs! We had a few hiccups with scheduling, and Riggs was a bit older than the newborns I'm used to photographing, but once we got him fed and warm, he was such an easy little dude to photograph! I was able to capture lots of sweet and fun little expressions on his sweet face, and the most darling images of him sleeping too!
I decided to keep the set up/props for this session super neutral and minimal, and honestly, it's my favorite. By keeping it simple, the focus is on the baby and sweet moments between Riggs and his parents. During this session, we took lots of breaks for feeding, diaper changes (or potty accidents, lol), and being rocked to sleep by mama. My newborn sessions have been averaging 3 hours in length, but a lot of that time is spent prepping baby, feeding, and getting them to sleep. I tell parents to allow for around 3 hours so that we have time to get baby nice and relaxed!
To prep clients, I always send out a prep guide that includes important information for getting baby ready for his/her photoshoot, as well as a checklist of items to have handy during the shoot. The best part is that I bring all the wraps, backdrops and props we'll need during the shoot, which takes the pressure off mom and dad to shop for baby outfits or items to use in the shoot! A stress free session is always what we aim for!
