I love finding new locations for sessions.
When Mt. Vernon senior Katie, and her mom Kim, reached out about senior pictures and mentioned Coxhall Gardens, I was game for something new. Located in Carmel, Indiana, Coxhall Gardens is a Hamilton County public park with a pond, bridge, clocktowers, barns, a mansion and amphitheater, a wetland with a trail running through and more! When I scouted the location a few days before out shoot, I texted Kim about how pumped I was for our session!
We started bright and early on a Saturday morning to avoid weekend crowds and a wedding reception, and to get that good, dreamy morning light. There were so many great spots to choose from, we had a hard time narrowing it down! Everytime I told Katie we could be done, I came up with another idea! Katie was a dream senior, so sweet and fun and up for whatever I suggested! Also, I LOVE a girl with natural curly hair (like myself) who chooses to embrace her natural hair texture! Katie and her mom brought some books to use as props, because Katie loves to read, so we geeked out about books together as well (we both love historical fiction, particularly WWII stories). I loved this session and this location, and will definitely be using it again!
**Note: Coxhall Gardens does require photographers to purchase a photography permit in advance any session, so clients who want to shoot at this location must notify me in advance so permits can be obtained!
