Every once in a while, I have an idea for a special shoot.
I call these creative shoots "styled" shoots because I choose the models and style them myself. I give specific instructions on what they wear, how they do their hair and makeup, etc. I LOVE shooting client sessions of all sorts, but styled shoots are fun because I have complete creative control and they're the only shoots that are JUST for me! Plus they're great work for my portfolio, and a chance for me to try new things without subjecting my clients my experimentation!
I love watching an idea come to life from behind my lens, and I had two visions for this shoot, and I couldn't decide, so we did both! Abbi and Allie were good sports, and oh so photogenic! I absolutely love how these images turned out!
For one part of the shoot, I knew I wanted to put the girls in flowy, pretty dresses and have images that felt very ethereal and feminine. Beckenholdt Park in Greenfield, IN was the PERFECT location and fit the vibe I was going for. My friend Andy told me about Beckenholdt last year, and I've shot there multiple times since. There's just something about the tall grass and wildflowers glowing in the sunset light that feels so surreal! Beckenholdt is a spot that I'm always suggesting to my clients; I love it that much!
The other half of our shoot was more urban, and we shot these images in downtown Fortville, IN. I love this area; there are a few alleys, lots of brick buildings and great little areas to shoot. Abbi and Allie were great and even helped me film some content for social media!
